The Business of Good Government
Directed by Jenny Clarke. November 21–December 1, 2002 at The Little Theatre.
Mairangi Players Christmas production for 2002 was a retelling of the nativity story.
The story takes place in Judea, and the actions King Herod is visited by three learned travellers. They have prophesied the birth of a 'king' in Judea. Herod knows that any king, not being related to him, must be destined to overthrow him. Herod send the three wise travellers to investigate further.
This production is a wonderful retelling of the nativity, with some great performances, and fantastic costumes and lighting. Lots of fun was had by the cast and the small, but appreciative audience. This production gave many people their first opportunity to be on stage.
