The Hamelin Incident
Forget locusts in Egypt or hurricanes in the tropics, this is a story of a small town with the worst kind of problem… Rats! Hamelin town was infested with rats. Big ones, small ones, fat ones scrawny ones - the townsfolk were suffering and no-one knew what to do. Until one day a strange figure appeared and charmed the rats with his mysterious music. Once the rats were gone, everyone began to celebrate until the miserly mayor refused to pay his bill. Mairangi Players latest production brings Robert Browning's famous poem to life in a fun, family show that everyone will enjoy. Performances: June 29 –July 7 2007. Tuesday-Friday, 7.30pm.
